Health & Safety Policy
It is the company’s intention to give all possible support to the declared aims of the Health and Safety Commission.
Therefore a system to control safety will operate within the company. The aim of this system is to achieve a standard of safety practice which satisfies the Health and Safety Executive and which will regard the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 as a minimum standard.
Every possible action will therefore be taken to remove factors which may constitute a danger to life or possibility of injury. Steps will be taken to ensure that proper safety practices are laid down, adequately publicised and that they are fully observed. This includes the provision of safe systems of working for all employees and suitable training as required and as appropriate.
The responsibility binding the company and its employees extends jointly to provide a healthy and safe working environment under the 1974 Act, and demands that full observance and compliance with safety practices by all concerned is maintained at all times.
It is recognised that this responsibility for safety extends from the Managing Director to the youngest employee and managers of the company will have specific responsibilities to the Managing Director for ensuring that safety matters are given prompt and proper treatment.
An essential part of the safety system is the management and staff liaison structure, which exists, this provides an important means of dialogue for all parties concerned and plays a key role in the identification of possible causes of danger and the appropriate measures for achieving any necessary improvements.
