Case Study North Wales Fire & Rescue Service
North Wales Fire Authority provides Fire Fighting, Rescue and Fire Safety Services for a population of 655, 000 over a geographical area of 2,500 square miles. There are 1,000 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel, 44 Fire Stations across 3 divisions with a fleet of 120 operational appliances and other vehicles.
The Service provides fire protection for several important areas including the Snowdonia National Park and the Deeside and Wrexham Industrial Estates - two of the largest industrial developments in Europe. Other important areas include the Royal Air Force bases at Valley and Sealand, small airports at Caernarfon, Mona and Hawarden and nuclear power stations at Trawsfynydd and Wylfa near Amlwch.
The new headquarters, a modern two storey building, was built to accommodate personnel and officers of the North Wales Fire & Rescue Service from administration staff to the Chief Fire Officer.
The fit out of the headquarters comprised the three different elements of the offices, the reception area and a restaurant. For the office space the Fire Service were looking for a modern yet practical and robust desking solution, with the additional option of an executive range of furniture for the Officers.
Desk Centre were chosen to deliver the project and worked closely with the Fire Service to ensure we met several key factors including price, quality and safety standards and of course aesthetics.
The client chose the Gresham range of furniture to give a stylish and practical finish and in total we installed 49 desks, 105 seats and 65 storage units.
This project was managed start to finish from inception to completion by Desk Centre. We worked in partnership with the Fire Service, Architects and building contractors to provide an outstanding facility for the Fire Service.
